Position Details:
Location: Prudhoe Bay (BP Central Dispatch)
Wage: DOE – Day Rate
Hours per day: Day Rate
Rotation: Two weeks on/two weeks off or as assigned
Reports to: Central Dispatch Office Manager
Purpose of Position:
The primary responsibilities of this position are to be the department’s representative in the field; be a professional effective resource for field users regarding equipment support; and monitor the utilization of BP owned or rented equipment on a daily basis – providing feedback necessary for efficient use of resources.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum - High School Diploma or GED. AA degree in business preferred.
Experience and Background:
A minimum of 5 years in the oil industry on the North Slope with a special emphasis on oil production techniques. Safety focused, positive attitude with strong problem solving and analytical skills. Written and oral communication skills. Proven customer service skills with advanced multitasking abilities. Advanced skills using Microsoft Office with the ability to learn specialized software quickly.

- Interact with BP user groups to assist in planning, forecasting, and procuring unit owned, shared fleet, and ad hoc rental equipment to support field operations. Provide support to Production Facilities, Maintenance groups, and Project Planners in support of facility shutdown/turnaround work, pipeline repairs, well tie-in, dewatering, ice road construction, and snow removal needs with equipment support.
- Observe and monitor equipment support activities in the field including equipment reliability, equipment being fit for intended purpose, operator competency, and safe operations. Act as liaison between BP user groups and 3rd party equipment vendors from issues that may arise in any of the above areas.
- Locate lost, idle, or abandoned equipment and arrange for recovery by Central Dispatch.
- Communicate and coordinate with BP’s Central Dispatch to inform them of equipment supporting work in the field that could be available upon their release which could support other pending work.
- Document damage and track repairs for non-BP owned equipment that was damaged while supporting BP work in the field, and communicate these occurrences to BP’s Fleet Maintenance & Dispatch Team Lead.
- Plan and assist with the equipment needs required to support field activities during spring break-up, and possible river outage of main travel roadway that isolates work areas.
- Assist BP Spill Response Team and Alaska Clean Seas Team with onsite assistance with their needs for equipment support during cleanup activities.

Equipment Utilization Coordinator

- In addition to the above expectations daily requirements of utilization data will need to be gathered be it electronically of manually inputted into formatted tracking / trending reports.
- Impacts to day to day operation in the field need to be recorded, resolved on the spot or reported to the Operations manager for resolution immediately.
- The field utilization coordinators and the Operations Manager will meet daily and discuss. Topics such as; field activity / after action reviews / trending problems / safety issues / performance bottle necks between the equipment utilization coordinators and the Operations manager will be conducted, with the expectation that the information gathered will promote continuous improvement, performance and safety.
- The equipment utilization coordinators will verify information on schedules in advance of the project start up for accuracy.
- Forecasting future needs in the field.
- Established KPI’s will be developed and submitted for review to the client monthly.
- The utilization coordinator position will be the front line ambassadors for Central Dispatch and will conduct themselves professionally and lead by example at all times.
